Art Portfolio project: S.M.A.R.T objectives

In upcoming week I will need o sign my ideas for the project. Today I going to make my project SMART, to be sure with idea and brief. The state of each big project is achievability in the timeframe.

Here is my smart objective for set project ''Purple Haze''. My continuation route is Graphic Design (Illustration).

Specific

I will be creating Leporello consisted of 6 digital drawing/painting with purple dominance which will be appeared along with the story. The concept will be based on my own story. The main purpose will be showing the beauty of the world and should affect appreciation to earth. I will be using the techniques of contemporary illustrators mentioned in my research. This project will take five weeks to complete. I will start by writing a short storyline. Then sketch it, basing on real pictures. My work on these I will start from the monochromatic overdrawing by hand from the sketches. And finalization in digital painting on Photoshop, using a graphic tablet.

Measurable

My goal should be achievable in shortly after I complete the storyline preparation (including script and sketches). Then all I need to do will be working on almost ready material. Painting with black acrylic paints should not take long. The digitalization part with colouring areas will be more time consuming, it can take approximately 2 weeks.

Achievable

It is in my power to accomplish this. Even when I work part-time during this trimester. I feel enough excitement to research this area. Not to mention the new technique which I want to reach.

Realistic

I can think about a story in working time. Evenings and the whole weekend I can focus on doing sketches. I can say that the storyline I can write in a few days, sketching and painting time will take 2 weeks. And final digital version max. 2 weeks.

Timely

The deadline is six week. Judging from my calculation, I will finish my project in time.

Set Project: The exact reason why and sketches

I have not straightened why I chose to illustrate the lyrics. As you may have noticed, I know quite a lot about music from the last century and always dreamed about the connection with visual art. Especially in this case, when the album is laid out as a story. Therefore, taking advantage of this opportunity I intend to make something familiar using illustration. You see, songs have a lyric - a story. And I want to share with those, by giving my version. In fact, Primitivism is related to the 60s pop culture and the insights I will publish gradually. The album that I chose is unique in terms of the tracklist. Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band has no gaps between tracks. Therefore they made an album that sounds like one continuous song. Set Project: Sketches and coming back to the first plan

In the last days, I concluded that I should focus on the reasons why I choose this topic and the style of this project. I think I started to be weak and not sure what I want to do. I think the reason is in a large number of researches. Same with techniques and artists to look at. I summarise that I am not capable to mix various inspirations at once. I came back to my first inspiration Anto van Hertbruggen. Because I always wanted to make art like that, no matter what's it gonna take. Tell me something about yourself: I am a young artist studying IYZ Art&Design with Graphic Design BA, in De Montfort University. Live in the Leicester city centre. My pathway started since I have been influenced by a close family by Claude Monet’s works. Paintings made by my uncle’s hands were great copies. Those pieces of art have been surrounding me still. I have been studying at Art School in Bydgoszcz, were I gain helpful skills and workshop. I would like to explore more possibilities to share my skills. The significant key of my artworks made by oil paints is the variously, including different textures and mediums. I’m sure that our expressions and feelings made us artists.
