Set Project: Tell me a story

Let me tell you a story...

Today, we have been focusing on the measure of the background story behind the art. I believe, that every piece of art telling the events making somebody cry or cheer.

My story of (telling) my great desires

It will be a story of the things that never happened in my life. However, I strongly believe that I keeping a connection with the past. You feel that you do not belong to the present. You are miserable, alone, have no one to share with your thoughts. The only desire is to come back to the place matching with your life ''flashbacks''.

It will be a story of my miserable feelings as being set in this world in these times. From time to time I have flashy ''drawbacks'' to the time which I have never experience. As a matter of fact, I find myself strongly connected to the last century. The worst thing is, that I cannot change it. Not magically, mentally.

I would only wish to have a time capsule.

So, Let's say that you have one chance to use it.

You can select the year and place.

And what you want to wear, for instance, a fur coat.

Apple shop on Baker Street in London, 1967

And ta-da! You are in the opposite to refurbished Apple shop* in London in 1967!

*Known as the first The Beatles business ventures. There, they were selling clothes and accessories. The control under the design of the building has been taken by The Fool company. The ''head'' designer, Barry Finch with dozen of art students painted the colourful mural in front of the building. Apparently, without council permission. Within two weeks, local trades persuaded authorities to step in order to repaint the building in its original colour.

You are amazed at the work they have done. You walk down the street and see nothing but rare old cars and fancy-looking clothes. Which turns up to belong to the man talking with the painter. You do not hesitate, and you trying to get closer to them.

They were saying something about the unrealistic journey. You assumed that certainly are in the right years. So, why not suggest something? They noticed your presence. After a long silence, you start talking about how splendid the mural is. Then you recalling yourself as an artist. They are staggered and persuaded by the conversation with you.
After a while, the man wearing a yellow coat with fur assembles offering you a tour of the lifetime. If you let yourself go, you can experience the most unimaginable things. You can't refuse.

He is taking you to the bus station. And you see the most non-ordinary coach waiting to take you away to the marvellous places. But first... Do you want to buy a ticket?

If so, there is a proposed schedule:
Penny Lane,
The Fool On the Hill,
Your Mother Should Know,
I Am The Walrus.

Comments

  1. This was enjoyable to read - almost as bizarre as watching the film itself. I like the idea of feeling nostalgic for an experience you never had in a period that you didn't exist - could you work this concept into your project? Could you use some of this text as part of your final outcomes? Could your images illustrate parts of this text? Could the project be you time travelling back to the Magical Mystery Tour and illustrating that story??

Research on Odilon Redon

According to the title of my blog post, today I am going to take deeper research of the XIX century artist - Odilon Redon. All the information should be based on my notes, which I took during the class. In terms of preparing for future lecturers in University life. But I found out difficult to caught the important notes in the current situation. I believe that the lecturers in real life, in a face to face system, will be more beneficial for both sides. Anyway, I would like to support the pieces of information about the lifetime of today's character. In order to make my writing more valuable.  He was born in Bordeaux, France on April 20, 1840. Died in  His nickname was created after mother's first name, Odile. His father pulled him to study architecture instead of art, but in 1857 Redon failed the entrance exams for architectural studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. But Odilon stayed in Paris with influential, famous friends such as Charles Baudelaire, Gustave Flaubert, and Edg...

Set Project: Final 3D piece

It is high time to show the final 3D outcome. I have been waiting for a sunny day to take a picture of Mr Kite. I found a perfect corner in the window ledge. I managed to find some white sheets for the ''session''. Unfortunately, they were curved and undulating and having no extra ones I tried to make it professional.  All this showcase is after Photoshop edit.  On those shoots I wanted to emphasise his posture. Nevertheless, it is still a bit stiff. Here I captured all his attributes in front of him. And one more, with his hands up. Which personally, I can compare them with gorilla's.  I took two pictures from different angles. In order to zoom in the portrait details. In addition, one from the front. I made a few mistakes regarding background preparation. I could glue or taped pages together to avoid the gaps. However, the software edit made a brighter impression, which is definitely an advantage.  Maybe a thicker paper and front light would reach a more prof...

Art Portfolio Project: First update - The story

When I took a look for the sign off sheet, it made me think about the story for my Leporello. I pointed out the initial ideas and spirit of the whole story.  It will not be act-playing roles, no dialogues. This six pieces story will take a viewer into a mysterious world of Native Americans.  I spent a lot of time thinking about how I want to present the culture and sense of spiritual world perceive by tributes eyes. I interested in the beliefs of this culture. I want to start explaining the background for the strip. Native Americans believed that all living things were watching over by guardian spirits. That could be; trees, wind, animals or people. Mostly, forces of nature.  Usually, the young boys were overcoming the ''journey'' to become a man. They believed that the guardian spirit, once fund, would bestow a special power on the boy and then, he would return to the tribe. Meaning of great spirit was a bit similar to be watched by an angel in the Christian religi...
