Hello and welcome to the last term of this academic year.
This post is for introducing plans and intends in near future regarding upcoming tasks. In this term particularly, I will focus on the deeper sense and meaning of each research. I am sure that the greater fault I have been made in terms of inspirations for the Set Project. In a longer period of time, it started to wane the main idea of the project.
Judging on this, I have spent more time generating posts with explicit reason, in order to clarify my intends and relation to the topic.
Quite an improvement I noticed in the writing skills, which I will consistently develop, despite the limited time. Moreover, I will try to use more Academic words, avoiding personal reflection, especially those which are irrelevant and no constructive.
Turning to the relevant discover during the break - the art.
The last trimester was overwhelming, especially in terms of time. And the result of that can be clearly seen in the last blog posts. Honestly, I was not aware of the amount of research and work documentation. The final piece with natives was promptly edited ''at the last minute''. Therefore, when it comes to reflection, I feel dissatisfied. The background and characters could look much better.
I came to this conclusion and have spent my spare time researching. The most lively, bright and colourful painting made by Jess Franks has opened my eyes. This is indeed a piece that can be set in a game or illustration for instance. It is a kind of art, a good-looking as hanged in a room and as a page in a book.
''The art of Jess Franks: Landscapes and florals that dance the line between realistic and abstracted.'' (Frank, n.d)
Jess Frank is a British graphic designer with experience in the publishing sectors. According to her words, she has spent plenty of time working on the pictures. Now, she maintains a full-time art studio in the back of her house creating multiple collections each year. Jess is also active in social media, she runs a website click, which is well designed and pleasant to look at.
She captures a view by painting with refreshed palette. This is an enormous ability - to do not reproduce reality, but adding an abstract-personal value together in one piece. In particular, this is what I will try to find and develop in this term - the palette. Creating an own colour palette is a precious gift. I believe that it is a relevant skill for an illustrator.

Don't withdraw your personal reflection entirely - one of the positive points from your blog last term was your willingness to reflect consistently throughout the term.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really positive post, you seem to have a better purpose. Jess Frank is a good reference too, relevant to the work you were making last term and you were thoughtful about how you might use your research to develop your work in the coming weeks.
