Research on the series of 2D pieces was based on the futuristic era in dominance, however, the Naive art colour palette was stated within the assumptions.
Nevertheless, at this time I would like to base my 3D outcome on original figures from the movie Yellow Submarine.
I already mentioned the importance of this movie in my project. This last piece is related to the book, actually on the song Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite!. This particular page has caught the features of the main character. Therefore, I wanted to make a figure of him. In my mind, I have imagined the look of him.
By searching the web, I found the figures of The Beatles from this iconic animation. They were made in 1999/2000. For now, is really hard to buy them they are very rare.
The Beatles figurine; John Lennon, McFarlane Toys, 1999
The company of those toys, McFarlane, made two series. I especially like the appliance of instruments and uniforms. This is a decorative style with matching colours, despite the diversity of roles; bulldog and band member. He is about 8 inches tall, the rest of the group has a monster in the set as well. However, this difference in roles matching. During my researches on 2D pieces, I found a lot of futuristic art conceptions with this palette. In my sculpture, I want to match colours on the same basis.
The Beatles figurine; Ringo Starr, McFarlane Toys, 1999
On the other hand, Ringo has a strange posture with a twisted leg. For me, it is hard to define the source of stabilisation. In my piece, Mr Kite also appeared in dynamic posture, I will try my best to keep his balance.
The series of these toys show the attribute of each one of the band and the bad character as well. This turns me to present my model with his attribute - hula hoop. Moreover, according to my assumptions, his left leg will by standing on the drum; which I intend to colour in contrasting colours.
I will take all those observations into my work. The research helped me understand the figures however made in 1999 but with a soul of 1967. This also should explain the ongoing interest in the old things. When in 1999 it was worth making a series of toys depicting the characters from the movie made 40 years earlier, there is still hope, that the target market not only depends on children and young adults. There is somewhere a bunch of fans who are looking for the products like this.

Your ability to collect research is really good, would like to hear more about how this will impact on your 3D outcome.
