In hence to do not repeat the title version from the original album, I decided to collect some inspiration from the late 60s era.
Recently, I have been searching for The Mamas and the Papas. I was wondering how their look or the album covers has changed after their top-listed song California dreamin'. They have taken over hippie style being more recognizable. Frankly, Mama Cass is definitely an icon in this group. She was always wearing colourful dresses, but this time the rest of the group has changed the look. Apparently, I found out that the group have a collaboration with Hasbro in 1967. It represents interesting music trade. What surprised me the most, was the universality of the doll collection with the famous singers of the time. Each doll is 4' tall and came with a 33 1/3 RPM vinyl 7" yellow or blue flexi-disc record and has a facsimile autograph and photo on the back with bubble-card. That was such a novelty idea! Honestly, I would like to have one of them in my ''old'' collection.
When I realise that this set includes vinyl, I can accept it as an album cover. However, I am looking for inspiration in titles and colours. This, for me, is an exceptional design of the 60s vibe. For instance, the colour comparishment. The flowing flowers on the light green background... There is a lot of inspiration for the colour palettes. When it comes to titles, I think that they represent basic, pure font shapes formed in catchy text. What I can add more? One of the best ''wavy fonts'' of those times.
Gilliam, T. (1969) Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
You've found some good well directed research here, the Mama's and Papa's images in particular and it works well in terms of your text and colour palettes.
