Today within the framework of the project development, I am sharing with the next page of the book. In order to keep the balance, I started sketching an intuitive scenario of this song. Firstly, I need to carefully accumulate all my ideas regarding particular lyric. When there is a possibility to split the text into half it makes the process easier. Whether it is not going to be that way, I take the key points of each of the verse to fit into the strip.
In most of the cases so far, I put two verses into one strip and so on.
By sketching this illustration, I wanted to keep a balance of the shapes; by meaning characters and the background. Because previously, I used to implicating dozen of curved lines with distorted shapes. By doing this piece, I reached the contrast by placing a human alongside the texture.
In the case of designing the numbers, I had a problem. I left this square for a while in order to dig into the examples from my previous research. I was considering titles from the Mamas and Papas, however, they could not fit to the cirrus flashing scenery. Therefore, I took advantage of the Monty Python post. Where the main titles have stimulated the cirrus.
There I took a picture of the overlying part. I taped a page to the window and with a blank sheet, I copied all lines (all the outline).
Thereafter, I used fine line pens in different tip sizes. I used the thick ones for the foreground elements. To add depth to a drawing, I used a technique from Monthy Python collages. Which was worked really well on this piece.
I coloured the first strip accordingly to my notes. Starting from the brightest part.
Finally, this time I felt that I understand what approach I should take within the small dimensions. Firstly, the work with watercolours demands patience, especially when each part of the field has a different colour.
This picture I took in the dark, however, clearly shows the improvement comparing to the first page ''A Day In The Life''.
