Set Project: Yellow Submarine research/Heinz Edelmann

Regarding the design for my project, I would like to look at the second member of the ''team'', Heinz Edelmann. It is striking that this man has a tremendous influence on a final version of the Yellow Submarine.

Heinz Edelmann (1934-2009) Is probably the best known for directing the animation Yellow Submarine. Howeverhe made several picture books targeted at children. Maicki Astromaus (1970) and Andromeda SR1 (1970) surely represents a science fictional fad taken by economical influence. He moves there significant problems of consumerism and careless whishes. In general, his illustrations accompanying text with political issues and societal upheaval (Kümmerling-Meibauer, 2018).

He was born in Usti Nad Labem and start his education at Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts. After graduation, he became a freelance graphic designer. Then Edelmann could persuade his printmaking aspirations. He appeared in German magazines by a later introduction to the American market by making short cartoons about The Beatles in 1965. Scenes capture simplify appearance, however, this series pleased the fab four to suggest a contract for feature-length cartoon. In 1967 John Lennon told him, "Get your crayons out. We've got a job for you."

Moreover, however, the expectations were met perfectly with such a calm artist - as he was described then. He was very eager and perfectly reflect the contemporary look of the group. He has shaped a plot, even when the main director Bob Malsen said that they were running out of money and Heinz responded ''I have an idea, we can fill the screen with numbers and it will be very cheap.'' Judging from that, we can state his endless stream of ideas. Although the predictions, Edelmann have no experience drugs on his output. Therefore, we can say that his imagination was definitely out of the land. In those times, the commercial studio could be done with Disney's animations.

He was inspired by a comic strip Flook, publishing then in Daily Mail.

After reived a divided opinions of this movie, in 1970 he was encouraged to make a book Andromeda SR1, inspired by a trip to Mars. The illustrations are close to the Yellow Submarine design. However, he included a variation of mediums. In the example below, the light bulbs were made with watercolours. This procedure distinguished the form and colours, contrary to the background situation. This is an inspiring example of how to use these paints in an effective way. I would like to conclude it in my colouring process.

He also designed a cover for Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. After those experiences, he became a professor at Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts. Nevertheless, he still sustains the work on designing book covers.

His persona is still recognized for the Yellow Submarine contribution. Sadly, he depicted himself as an Ancient Mariner with an albatross around his neck. "Who likes to think that he did his best work when he was only 33?" It has been said in Liverpool, 1999 due to occasion with introducing the stamp featured by Yellow Submarine

He died in Stuttgart on 21 July 2009.

Set Project: The exact reason why and sketches

I have not straightened why I chose to illustrate the lyrics. As you may have noticed, I know quite a lot about music from the last century and always dreamed about the connection with visual art. Especially in this case, when the album is laid out as a story. Therefore, taking advantage of this opportunity I intend to make something familiar using illustration. You see, songs have a lyric - a story. And I want to share with those, by giving my version. In fact, Primitivism is related to the 60s pop culture and the insights I will publish gradually. The album that I chose is unique in terms of the tracklist.  Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band  has no gaps between tracks. Therefore they made an album that sounds like one continuous song. ''Highly debated it is considered as a one of the first concept album'' (The HollyHobs, 2020). Some of the songs had been established according to the newspapers headers/stories.  The reasons why I chose this relation to the theme ...

Art Portfolio Project: First update - The story

When I took a look for the sign off sheet, it made me think about the story for my Leporello. I pointed out the initial ideas and spirit of the whole story.  It will not be act-playing roles, no dialogues. This six pieces story will take a viewer into a mysterious world of Native Americans.  I spent a lot of time thinking about how I want to present the culture and sense of spiritual world perceive by tributes eyes. I interested in the beliefs of this culture. I want to start explaining the background for the strip. Native Americans believed that all living things were watching over by guardian spirits. That could be; trees, wind, animals or people. Mostly, forces of nature.  Usually, the young boys were overcoming the ''journey'' to become a man. They believed that the guardian spirit, once fund, would bestow a special power on the boy and then, he would return to the tribe. Meaning of great spirit was a bit similar to be watched by an angel in the Christian religi...

Here, I sharing with the process of placeing imagines into a mockup. I solved the issue with proper cutting the document. And also presented the second visualisation with a blue background.
