Final Reflective Post

This is the final reflective post, and recalling the last session will reflect my experience from this term and my future decisions.

The work that I did this term has a satisfactory result which I observing through the course. I have learned how to connect my interest to the real world, crossing mind boundaries and giving an art space for myself despite the current time.

The last project with ''Sgt Pepper's lyric book'' has personally, the best evaluation in comparison to the previous project. I found that I can research a lot and choose the relevant information to translate into my outcomes. However, the extended artists' profiles made confusion in some way. I noticed it particularly by creating a book cover. Collecting too much information has introduced the opposite of exceptional illustration tailored to make it as simple as it can be. I made a fault in this term, therefore, in my next tasks, I will try to determine only a few inspirations and transit them into my creative language.

Except for the illustrations, the most disturbing process was with designing the text area. Nevertheless, I had looked at the examples from a different lyric book. Alongside my observations, I have not seen any differences. I come to the conclusion, that I would need to make more comprehensive research in terms of ready-made outcomes. In order to feel proudly enough to show them as well.

My year at DMUIC under pandemic circumstances definitely has changed my point of view and expectations regarding the university program. What I have been through, I can assume as good preparation for the university. With this program, I discovered how to define myself in the art world. Also, it has changed my approach into self-study time, where I learned how to manage and understand my progress and reflect on it.

When I think about the future, I still see the subject connected to art. However, having almost twenty years old it is hard to precise all future decisions and plans. My progression is still unchanged - Graphic Design (Illustration). I look forward to getting to know more about the course. I hope that this year helps my to be prepared for new experience and challenges in the first year of the undergraduate course. During the study, I was passionate about everything connected with the culture. Therefore I can reckon the most likely scenario about being a freelancer.

Research on Odilon Redon

According to the title of my blog post, today I am going to take deeper research of the XIX century artist - Odilon Redon. All the information should be based on my notes, which I took during the class. In terms of preparing for future lecturers in University life. But I found out difficult to caught the important notes in the current situation. I believe that the lecturers in real life, in a face to face system, will be more beneficial for both sides. Anyway, I would like to support the pieces of information about the lifetime of today's character. In order to make my writing more valuable.  He was born in Bordeaux, France on April 20, 1840. Died in  His nickname was created after mother's first name, Odile. His father pulled him to study architecture instead of art, but in 1857 Redon failed the entrance exams for architectural studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. But Odilon stayed in Paris with influential, famous friends such as Charles Baudelaire, Gustave Flaubert, and Edg...

Set Project: Final 3D piece

It is high time to show the final 3D outcome. I have been waiting for a sunny day to take a picture of Mr Kite. I found a perfect corner in the window ledge. I managed to find some white sheets for the ''session''. Unfortunately, they were curved and undulating and having no extra ones I tried to make it professional.  All this showcase is after Photoshop edit.  On those shoots I wanted to emphasise his posture. Nevertheless, it is still a bit stiff. Here I captured all his attributes in front of him. And one more, with his hands up. Which personally, I can compare them with gorilla's.  I took two pictures from different angles. In order to zoom in the portrait details. In addition, one from the front. I made a few mistakes regarding background preparation. I could glue or taped pages together to avoid the gaps. However, the software edit made a brighter impression, which is definitely an advantage.  Maybe a thicker paper and front light would reach a more prof...

Art Portfolio Project: First update - The story

When I took a look for the sign off sheet, it made me think about the story for my Leporello. I pointed out the initial ideas and spirit of the whole story.  It will not be act-playing roles, no dialogues. This six pieces story will take a viewer into a mysterious world of Native Americans.  I spent a lot of time thinking about how I want to present the culture and sense of spiritual world perceive by tributes eyes. I interested in the beliefs of this culture. I want to start explaining the background for the strip. Native Americans believed that all living things were watching over by guardian spirits. That could be; trees, wind, animals or people. Mostly, forces of nature.  Usually, the young boys were overcoming the ''journey'' to become a man. They believed that the guardian spirit, once fund, would bestow a special power on the boy and then, he would return to the tribe. Meaning of great spirit was a bit similar to be watched by an angel in the Christian religi...
