Today, I decided to sketch out the ideas regarding the 3D piece. According to my intends from the beginning of my 2D project, after finished pages, I should specify what object I will crave.
It will be a Mr Kite who was my leading character in the song ''Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite''. It is the only persona which I started
I made some modification for obvious reasons. I needed to create a three-dimensional posture of him. Therefore, I changed the wearing and added an extra kg. I had a visualisation of his likeness and the silhouette.
I placed on the top left side reference points; where the sculpture can keep the balance. I was inspired by futuristic sculptures, precisely the constructivist movement, the example here. They made a lot of sketches with directional, guidance lines to keep the expressive form, especially by the figure enlisted as basic shapes. As I did it, I could examine the posture. There will be two sources - one as his right leg, and the second leg stepped on the cirrus trampoline. I implemented this object in the foreground I am planning to paint his attributes in red-green accents. Also, I need to work on the design of his suite. Moreover, I placed a hoop in the middle of his body. During the interpretation of the lyric ''To the Benefit Of Mr Kite!'' I found some of the facts about his character. He can silently do tricks, jumping over horses, men, hoops through the hogshead of a real fire.
It briefly remarks on his ambitious persona, as a star of the ''tonight'' show. Which definitely, I will be remaining myself on craving.
Surely, the outcome would not look like on the sketches. I have learnt and discovered that during the process plans may have changed. Therefore, I decided to not pulling as much attention to the details.
Regarding the hoop, which I consider as a different element, I am planning to use a wire. I would need to have it ready first to implement it straight to the sculpture. Then I will start to shape the form from clay. The trampoline will be made of clay a well. I was considering the different material, however, it would be afterwards impossible to make a construction able to keep the weight of the dried sculpture.
By mistake, I posted the craving part, which supposed to be after this post.
These sketches describe your idea well in terms of movement, shape and form. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
