All the pages inside the book are finished, however, the cover needs to meet with the final touch.
Today I switched the software into photoshop. By using a graphic tablet, I was planning to change the titles and overall look of the cover.
To make sure that I will follow my guidance, I followed the notes from the sketch. Fortunately, I scanned all the sheets so I have everything to complete this step.
I changed the titles, by copying them from the black outlined version. And easing the old ones. I coloured the ribbons on the sides, as a trial of the watercolour mode paintbrush.
I wanted to replace the title Lonely Hearts, however, in order to do this, I would need to change all scheme what I had established.
I changed the size of the main titles. In terms of design, I filled brackets for matching with an outline.
The harder part was with the second line of the title. It was unexpectedly a long text to fit on the cover. I have looked at the titles from the Mamas&Papas dollies. I clicked on the above mark with a ''T letter on a hill''. I could select wavy letters and adjust their direction.
When I reckoned that it looks decent, I minimalized the page to verify whether I need to improve. I found that I need to harmonize the red and green. The shape of the letters was unkept.
By finishing the cover, I created a new document with a yellow background.
I transited fonts from the cover. I think that they are quite matching with The Beatles logo. By accident, I left the Latin sample text, but I do like it. It would be a great poster in a simple way. From the classes with posters, I would use this particular one. Nevertheless, I would need to delete this before the final outcome.
I introduced an update regarding the front illustration. I came to the conclusion, that the main red title ''Lonely Hearts'' is irrelevant. It made a confusing effect. However, I tried to implement the inspiration from Aldridge apparently, it was too much as for the cover. On the other day in class, we discussed the proper made posters/covers. The key is in keeping the illustration simple, by the meaning of colour palette and elements. The feature of one of the best cover is an eye-catching appearance.
Therefore, I came back to the software and tried to bring out the best.
I erased the red title. Definitely, I would not do it by hand once again. Anyway, I have a lot of objects done without digital tools. In order to distinguish it, I made titles with a text tool.
I chose a serif font. It particularly matching to the aesthetic style of the cover. Moreover, I have changed the subtitles. The colours I left in the same tone as they had been. I was unsure about the shape of the verse.
I made two versions to compare which is more suitable. Honestly, the first one is much better. It gives an impression of cumulative energy drain from the drum and the band.
