Set Project: Working on layout

Today I assumed to finish the struggles within the text and merging spaces. In this post, I will talk through the struggles that I met during the process.

The updates I started from the titles. As far as I know, it should distinguish the inside text - lyrics, and main titles above. I considered the bold version, however, it covered the illustrations, it pulled more attention as it supposed to be. I picked two fonts. This one on the righthand side seems to be modernistic, maybe it would fit better for the newspaper. On the other hand, the left font option I took from the back cover titles. It would make an equally impression and harmony within the text.

I turned to the lyrics because the previous scheme was eye confusing and unable to read.

The biggest disadvantage is the autonomous length of each song. Therefore I needed to find a balance between each section. In Mr Kite, I placed whole two verses in the first block because the lyric was mainly about them.

Coming back to the first enlisted lyric, A Day In The Life, I found it extremely difficult to fill the white space. Those two verses are too short, to reasonably put them forward.

I came up with creating a third column for the longer text. It worked much better than before. However, I can't manipulate each line. When I tried to make it shorter, the whole sentence has cut out.

The same version I implemented here. I reckon it is a promising step into the finish line. Nevertheless, I still need to customize the rest of the text.

Set Project: The exact reason why and sketches

I have not straightened why I chose to illustrate the lyrics. As you may have noticed, I know quite a lot about music from the last century and always dreamed about the connection with visual art. Especially in this case, when the album is laid out as a story. Therefore, taking advantage of this opportunity I intend to make something familiar using illustration. You see, songs have a lyric - a story. And I want to share with those, by giving my version. In fact, Primitivism is related to the 60s pop culture and the insights I will publish gradually. The album that I chose is unique in terms of the tracklist.  Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band  has no gaps between tracks. Therefore they made an album that sounds like one continuous song. ''Highly debated it is considered as a one of the first concept album'' (The HollyHobs, 2020). Some of the songs had been established according to the newspapers headers/stories.  The reasons why I chose this relation to the theme ...

Art Portfolio Project: First update - The story

When I took a look for the sign off sheet, it made me think about the story for my Leporello. I pointed out the initial ideas and spirit of the whole story.  It will not be act-playing roles, no dialogues. This six pieces story will take a viewer into a mysterious world of Native Americans.  I spent a lot of time thinking about how I want to present the culture and sense of spiritual world perceive by tributes eyes. I interested in the beliefs of this culture. I want to start explaining the background for the strip. Native Americans believed that all living things were watching over by guardian spirits. That could be; trees, wind, animals or people. Mostly, forces of nature.  Usually, the young boys were overcoming the ''journey'' to become a man. They believed that the guardian spirit, once fund, would bestow a special power on the boy and then, he would return to the tribe. Meaning of great spirit was a bit similar to be watched by an angel in the Christian religi...

Set Procject: Finalisation

Here, I sharing with the process of placeing imagines into a mockup. I solved the issue with proper cutting the document. And also presented the second visualisation with a blue background.
