Website update

In today's session, we discussed what can we improve on the portfolio websites. I especially want to enhance the mobility and design of my page. In order to complete the task correctly, I asked myself a few questions from the tutor's slides.

Regarding bio page:

Is it relevant?

Does it reflect your and your progression route?

Yes, I think it clearly does appear to be an designer profile.

Is it designed well?

Is copyright correct and in place?

Does it include your name and what your website is about?

Firstly, I saw a big lack of the original side of this profile. It should represent the artist. Therefore, I replaced the first image from the slides on my homepage. It was an ordinary piece from online stock. I have been searching for the best piece connected to the last project.

However, I am still unsure about the colour of the text.
I will left this for further consideration.

I wanted to change those front titles as well, the font needed a change. I was thinking about serif typed version. I chose Cormorant Garamond Light or Semi Bold type.
On this screenshot, I can see the weakness of this font. It does not step forward, is a neuter.
I skipped to the second slide, where I switched into a more modern style.
Which suited perfectly to the layout and image. The font ''Brandon Grotesque'' I incorporated into the previous slide.

In the next step, I found the issue with the homepage bar. When I clicked ''portfolio'' it did not change the screen. On the settings, the ''portfolio'' redirects to the homepage, which is a mistake. I tried to manage the Luiza Plak title as a transition to the homepage. However, I cannot set this..

I changed all pages. I decided to add a separate sections with illustrations and graffiti. It also give a more content to the main upper bar.
I have looked at the example of the Jess Frank page. Her persona I introduced in my first post. Therefore, I wanted to transit this motif.

I tried my best, however it looks much worse than before. Moreover, I cannot add the dropped menu. By adding this, I could take the viewer to the new page depicting my project.
I have experimented with the bold text however, it looked weird and unsuitable to the page. I replaced the main colour with black.

Check your bio page
Is is relevant?
Does it reflect you and your progression route?
Is it designed well?
Is it well written?
Does it have any spelling or grammar errors?
Could this be improved?

The comment typed below those questions on the presentation. ''Remember this reflects who you are now!''. This is a statement directed straight in the point. It is true, and even I can see now, that my conception regarding the design has changed. I evaluated my creativity in the recent past months, for instance, I can customize the page in a different way.

I noticed, that I should change picture of me here and the description.

Hopefully, I found one recent picture. I only moved and cropped into the layout.
Also, I looked at the Jess Frank example. The text she arranged in form of the third person. Therefore I consider changing my bio in a similar way.

I decided to switch sides. The text is on the left and the bigger photo on the right.

Check your contact page and navigation
Is your contact page well designed?
Does it work? Have you tested this?
Does all your navigation on your menu work correctly?
Do you have back buttons to return to the home page on other pages?
Do all your social links work?
Are your social links professional?
Are there any spelling or grammar errors?
Could this be improved?

I think that the design had made in the previous term is exceptional. Therefore, I implied a change text block. I wanted to encourage people to stay on the website by subscribing to it.

By words of conclusion, I still need to make a drop-down menu for the illustrations section.

Set Project: The exact reason why and sketches

I have not straightened why I chose to illustrate the lyrics. As you may have noticed, I know quite a lot about music from the last century and always dreamed about the connection with visual art. Especially in this case, when the album is laid out as a story. Therefore, taking advantage of this opportunity I intend to make something familiar using illustration. You see, songs have a lyric - a story. And I want to share with those, by giving my version. In fact, Primitivism is related to the 60s pop culture and the insights I will publish gradually. The album that I chose is unique in terms of the tracklist.  Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band  has no gaps between tracks. Therefore they made an album that sounds like one continuous song. ''Highly debated it is considered as a one of the first concept album'' (The HollyHobs, 2020). Some of the songs had been established according to the newspapers headers/stories.  The reasons why I chose this relation to the theme ...

Set Project: Sketches and coming back to the first plan

In the last days, I concluded that I should focus on the reasons why I choose this topic and the style of this project. I think I started to be weak and not sure what I want to do. I think the reason is in a large number of researches. Same with techniques and artists to look at. I summarise that I am not capable to mix various inspirations at once. I came back to my first inspiration Anto van Hertbruggen. Because I always wanted to make art like that, no matter what's it gonna take. Here I will discuss the elements which I want to use to combine this pice in one. Here is the whole work with the background. As I mentioned before, I looked at how Anton work on his illustrations. He usually filling few sheets in drawings (as layers for one illustration).  First, I found a great view on google maps. I am interested in the territories of Canada and the northern landscape. The place is in Northwest Territories, in Yellowknife.  click I sketch this place on two sheets of paper. Then...

Welcome to my blog!

Tell me something about yourself:  I am a young artist studying IYZ Art&Design with Graphic Design BA, in De Montfort University. Live in the Leicester city centre. My pathway started since I have been influenced by a close family by Claude Monet’s works. Paintings made by my uncle’s hands were great copies. Those pieces of art have been surrounding me still. I have been studying at Art School in Bydgoszcz, were I gain helpful skills and workshop.  I would like to explore more possibilities to share my skills. The significant key of my artworks made by oil paints is the variously, including different textures and mediums. I’m sure that our expressions and feelings made us artists. In my artworks, I’m trying to take after my deep feelings of research and my inquisitiveness. Furthermore, I’m fascinated by the 50’s and 60’s century artists. Especially, Futurist artist like Boccioni, Silva, Gonzalez. Their appearance have been a tremendous impact on my art.  Claude Monet...
